Namche Bazar Acclimatisation Day

Thursday, 9th March 2012

Distance 4 miles
Total Ascent 1,737 feet
Time 4 hours

Spending a full day in Namche Bazar to acclimatise to the high altitude a short walk was offered as an optional extra. We headed initially to the lookout we had visited the previous day, then climbed up past the airstrip to a higher ridge. A level track then took us on to the Everest View Hotel - with more great views. After retracing our steps for a short time we took a different path back down to Namche, this time passing the opposite end of the airstrip.
