| Comments: | A good forecast meant that there was a large number of people on this route but on such a large expanse this was not a problem. The long route to the summit took in narrow and wide footpaths, a rocky undulating footpath along Ogden Clough and a flagged section leading up to the summit. Returning via the shelter, Scout Cairn and Mearley Moor the path was mainly grass with some stoned and gravel sections. | ||
Chartists Well, traditionally associated with 19th-century radical reformers who met in the area to campaign for working-class voting rights.
