Start Point: | Grassington YDNP car park | Grid Reference: | SE 002 637 |
Distance: | 8 miles | Ascent: | 750 feet |
Time: | 5 hours | ||
Weather: | A bright sunny day with a cool breeze in exposed areas | ||
Comments: | A spell of good weather finally allowed us to get back to a reasonable distance and ascent. However the recent lack of rain meant that there was little water passing over the rocks at Linton Falls and Ghaistrill's Strid. The main focus of the walk was the ascent from Conistone through the gorge and the final steep climb up the Dib where the dry ground and rocks were a bonus. |
Little water in Linton Falls today . . .
and not much more . . .

The River Wharfe bridge leads into Grassington
Approaching Ghaistrill's Strid
The narrow start of Conistone gorge . . .

Returning along the Dales Way we are reminded of the nature of this area
