Comments:

We travelled by taxi from the hotel to the start of the walk. There was a good path up to the Franz Senn Hütte with a reasonable amount of climbing on the way. After a brief stop at the hut we continued on our way. At times the route followed a good track but there were also boulder fields that had to be navigated. Most of the time it was too misty to see much but it sometimes cleared for a short spell to give some spectacular views. Eventually it was raining enough for us to put waterproofs on and soon the rain changed to hail and then snow. Shortly before reaching the col we found a suitable spot for a light lunch. At the col there was quite an expanse of snow with a large cornice. Navigating around this we started to make our way down the opposite side on a good zig-zagging path. The mist cleared enough for us to see a spectacular waterfall and the valley we would descend into before making our way down to the main valley. Before heading down we had a short stop at the Neue Regensburger Hütte and enjoyed a short spell of sunshine and spectacular views. Then it was down another zig-zag path beside the waterfall and past a small collection of buildings. It was now raining quite heavily, as we made our way to the service road. However, we used short-cuts cutting across the service road and descended quickly to the valley with about 10 minutes to spare before catching the bus back to the hotel.
