Walk:

Encombe Bridge, Long Lane, Long Scar, Pennine Bridleway, Moughton Scars, Wharfe, Austwick

Start Point: Clapham riverside Grid Reference: SD 745 693
Distance: 11 mls Ascent: 1,780 ft
Time: 5 hours
Weather: Largely overcast with a cold, strong wind
Comments: I chose this walk to try and find a path off Moughton Scars that I had failed to find previously. After further investigation at home I can see where I went wrong and should be able to find it next time. While it was a pleasant day it was more overcast than expected and the wond on Moughton Scars was very cold.

When Ingleborough came into sight it looked like there was still some snow up there . . .

and a closer look confirmed this

From Long Scar the sun tries to reach Ingleborough . . .

while Pen-y-Ghent, in the opposite direction, is in complete shade

Cloud descends on Igleborough as we reach the far end of Moghton Scars
