Walk: Yewbarrow, Witherslack Hall Farm, Low Park Wood, Township Plantation, Slape Scars, Rawsons Wood, Buckhouse Wood, Beck Head, Rocky Common
Start Point: Roadside Grid Reference: SD 444 833
Distance: 13 miles Ascent: 2,000 feet
Time: 6 hours
Weather: Short showers in the morning becoming sunny in the afternoon
Comments: Mainly gradual ascents took us over Yewbarrow and through woodland around and through Whitbarrow Nature Reserve. The footpath through the reserve was over smooth limestone where great care was needed. Not many photos as the memory card wasn't in my camera so I had to use my phone!

A rather wet start

Delayering when the rain had stopped

Time for our morning break

Spotting a tunnel . . .

I took a closer look

Approaching some slippery wet limestone in Slape Scar Wood

Are these soay sheep . . .

at Kirket Nook?
