Walk: Dubhow, Boredale Hause, Beda Fell, Martindale, Ullswater lakeside path, Crookabeck
Start Point: Hartsop car park Grid Reference: NY 409 130
Distance: 13 miles Ascent: 3,080 feet
Time: 6.5 hours
Weather: Intermittent rain, gale force winds on the tops
Comments: Nine members and 1 visitor joined the leader for this walk, a commendable number considering the weather forecast. As we made our way across Beda Fell the increasing strength of the wind gave cause for concern as the planned walk would take in the higher ridge from Wether Hill to Rampsgill Head. Dropping down into the valley we took advantage of shelter in The Old Church of St Martin. It was decided to keep to a low level and make our return via the path alongside Ullswater and on through Crookabeck. We enjoyed a spell of dry weather until we reached the cars, when the expected heavy rain suddenly made its presence felt. Footwear was changed and gear stowed in the cars in double quick time!! The walk was enjoyed by all despite being a different route to that planned.

The 'half a bridge' took us across Angletarn Beck . . .

but waterproofs were needed as we climbed to Boredale Hause . . .
