Walk: Parlick Pike, Fair Snape Fell, Saddle Fell, Totridge Fell, Whitemore, Dinkling Green, Lickhurst Farm, Saddle End, Wolfen Hall
Start Point: Fell Foot Grid Reference: SD 601 442
Distance: 13 miles Ascent: 2,500 feet
Time: 7 hours
Weather: A heavy shower and mist on Fair Snape Fell but otherwise overcast and mainly dry
Comments: Having been unable to join the group at the planned starting point I decided to follow a well known route to Parlick, Fair Snape Fell and Saddle Fell. After taking a morning break on Fair Snape Fell I was just about to leave when the group arrived. I decided to join them for the much longer walk across the peat bogs to Totridge Fell with the retuen at the lower level. After the rain of previous days it was a difficult route and more than one person ended up being caught out by the wet conditions.

Looking across to Longridge Fell from the climb . . .

to Parlick Pike

Fair Snape Fell surrounded by mist . . .

which cleared as the group took their morning break

Many detours were needed to avoid the boggy ground

Totridge Fell . . .

where the group gathers for a photo

The descent from Totridge Fell . . .

provides the perfect spot for our lunch stop

The descent continues . . .

towards Mellor Knott

The off road cyclists started to descend the bridleway we had just walked along!!!

A bit deep for a boot wash so we opt for the stepping stones
