Walk: Goody Bridge, Sourmilk Gill, Easedale Tarn, Stythwaite Steps, Far Easedale, Grasmere
Start Point: A591 lay-by Grid Ref: NY 337 085
Distance: 7.5 miles Ascent: 1,100 feet
Weather: Sunny spells and quite mild Time: 4.25 hours
Comments: Today we took the opportunity of doing some shopping in Ambleside before continuing on to Grasmere and the start of the walk. From the lay-by we walked into Grasmere before following Easedale Road to Sourmilk Gill and on to Easedale Tarn where we ate lunch. We then decided to walk around the tarn instead of continuing on to Codale Tarn and Tarn Crag. It was a very pleasant walk with good vantage points to take a variety of photos of the Tarn. After descending below Cockly Crag we walked across to Stythwaite Steps and down Far Easedale. It was then a short walk through Grasmere and back to the car.
