Walk: Jeffrey Hill, Spire Hill, Longridge Fell, Higher Deer House, Doe Hill, Starling Brook, Duddel Hill, Gannow Fell
Start Point: Jeffrey Hill Grid Ref: SD 639 401
Distance: 13.4 miles Ascent: 1,485 feet
Weather: Overcast but mild
Accompanied by:

On my own

Comments: This walk was to try out a different route for the walk I will be leading in November. There had been a lot of rain in the previous week and all the fields were boggy with muddy sections, especially through farm gates. It wasn't an easy route to navigate and while there were some rather interesting sections I will not use it for the group walk.

Hazy on Spire Hill

A section of 'boulder hopping' through the forest

What a specimen!

The perfect place for morning coffee . . .

overlooking Chipping (not visible in the haze)

One of the many bridges I had to cross

Greengore has featured in most of the walks I have done in this area

Doe Hill - rather uninteresting but shortly afterwards I nearly had a battle with a herd of cows that insisted on following me

Ready for refurbishment!

Just when the rivers are in flood!!!
