Walk: Nick of Pendle, Ogden Clough, Pendle Hill, Hookcliffe Plantation, Little Mearley Hall, Ashendean Clough
Start Point: Nick of Pendle Grid Ref: SD 771 385
Distance: 8.6 miles Ascent: 1,730 feet
Weather: A mild day with sunny spells
Accompanied by:

Sheila

Comments: We've been here many times but there's always a new route to try out. We climbed steadily to the trig point on Pendle Hill - unusually quiet today. From here we took the zig-zig path down to Hookcliffe Plantation then made our way through fields to Mearley Hall. From here we climbed again, across the lower slopes of Ashendean Clough and back to the the 'Nick'

A mild morning but hazy views across Churn Clough Reservoir

Heading up Ogden Clough . . .

and we have the summit trig point . . .

all to ourselves

Looking down to Barley with Lower Black Moss Reservoir on the left and Lower Ogden Reservoir on the right

The path across Ashendean Clough starts of clearly and leads to . . .

a hidden footbridge at Howcroft Barn

No-one on the ski slopes today!
